Market Opportunity

According to IBISWorld revenue for the Adjustable Bed and Mattress Manufacturing industry is expected to continue surging from a low base following the recessionary and early recovery period. Like most producers of discretionary consumer goods, adjustable bed and mattress manufacturers experienced renewed demand during the five-year period due to improving economic conditions, particularly regarding the real estate market and consumer income levels.

As a result, industry revenue is expected to grow at an annualized rate of 14.2% to $2.0 billion during the five-year period to 2018, including a 9.5% increase this year alone.

Over the five years to 2023, IBISWorld projects that industry revenue will grow at a more normalized annualized rate of 6.1% to $2.7 billion. The continued but diminishing growth of the housing market and increasing disposable income will help boost demand for mattresses. The winding down of housing starts will precipitate the recovery of income levels, which is still a boon to the industry. Thus, as the level of residential construction remains growing, homeowners with higher income will then be able to purchase expensive household goods, including adjustable beds and mattresses.
